Thank you Boing Boing for supplying a steady stream of interesting things I wish I had thought of first but didn't.

Today I learned about a new direction in blogging called placeblogging. These blogs are devoted to the shared experience of specific places rather than a forum on a specific idea (such as this blog) or the individual experiences of one person.

What's so cool about placeblogging is that it's an inherently community building activity. Blogs such as ours are great devices for exploring the many avenues of an idea; in the same way, a placeblog explores the nuances of location. Seems like a great way to find an insiders' guide to a new place or discover new things about a familiar one.
